Khorasan 101: What You Need to Know

U.S. officials have complained that Mr. Snowden’s disclosures on what NSA does and how it does it have proved to be a windfall to Islamic terrorist groups who plot to attack Americans abroad and in the homeland.
The Khorasan group has again made the news and many of the same questions we asked are being asked by others that have national security responsibilities. First some background to get others up to speed on who, and what this aL Qaeda group is:

Now that the preliminaries are out of the way we can get back to our fundamental question, about revealing operational capabilities of our counter-
Intelligence officials have told multiple media outlets that Khorasan’s plans likely involved attempting to hijack aircrafts in a Western country, utilizing advanced electronic devices to get past airport security checkpoints.
What Holder, Clapper, and other officials failed to explain was how Khorasan was able to become an “imminent threat,” even after revealing that the United States had been tracking the sophisticated terror cell for years.
A senior government official told Breitbart News he was shocked that such sensitive information about Khorasan had been announced to the general public, explaining the extreme sensitivity of the information regarding the terror group’s plans against the United States.

This article does not name the source that "was shocked" about the information that was released in several interviews regarding this group, though we had similar questions. The most important was this group just popped up on the nations radar on the 16th which prompted us to write this US Intelligence Raises Threat Level from al Qaeda article:
The fundamental question that need to be asked is why would these groups want to work so diligently to defeat a security system that has been designed to thwart them at every turn? Or to put it another way why do they want to run the gauntlet of a security perimeter that is designed to catch them, and what is so special or sacred about blowing airliners out of the sky?
The goal of these acts are terror and the thought of terror that keeps a population on a constant state of tension, knowing they could be a target at any time. The cost in time, money, materials and resources supposedly to blow airliners out of the sky is a problem with diminishing returns.
We asked this fundamental question to try to grasp why we were being told about this group and why, now:
We have to ask some qualifying questions as this seems to contradict the actual reality of what these groups are trying to accomplish and we have to question this assessment by our own intelligence agencies and groups. We believe that these assessments are not for the stopping of these groups but to continue the constant state of fear and repression that our own government has created over these acts by Islamofascists against our own citizens and we just accept them without question.

Call us jaded, cynical and dubious of this latest success in Syria destroying a group that just popped up on our supposed radar last week the Khorasan group an offshoot of aL Qaeda:
This is an incredible victory over Islam, we first hear about this group last week that they threaten, air travel in the United States by being technically proficient in building concealable bombs for bringing down aircraft. Then this week they have been targeted and destroyed with a capable assist from the NSA the repressive agency that has the entire nation under surveillance.
This is just to convenient and sounds contrived, and frankly propaganda, a false flag operation to justify the action in Syria and the actions of the NSA, is meant to look that we cannot curtail their operations in the slightest. We have always taken the position that the NSA has the obligation to operate overseas and not domestically against the entire nation but, we are not being presented any options, only a high five for this supposed victory.
We then categorically stated, that we believed this is a propaganda show and a false flag operation to continue the repression that our feckless tyrant has brought to a roiling boil:
Now they appear to be negated, within nine days the threat was first divulged, and defeated seems extraordinary. We are dubious that this actually the case, it seems it is too fantastic an outcome and we reject the information as simply propaganda.
The other issue that is deeply disturbing is revealing the actions of the NSA in this issue, it seems, counter productive to reveal your operational capabilities to our enemies. aL Qaeda has known about our signal intelligence capability for a long time, and this new affiliate from out of the blue comes along, and breaks all the rules and is now supposedly obliterated.
This seems too improbable to be believed...
Clearly this is nothing more than a puff piece to move the American people to accept the constant state of repression from our government and what better way to do it than create and enemy and destroy them, then publicize our success.
We are now at a point to discuss the reaction of the intelligence community about the same questions we had, and they are dark and appear to be malevolent on the part of our government. There are two possibilities for the statement from the unnamed government official:

The first is the same argument, we put forward and is simply why would our government reveal such detailed information about this group and their supposed intentions, and why, now. We chalked all this up to a campaign to allow and possibly ramp up the repression we have seen with the security state and the intrusions by the NSA into our lives and privacy, they may very well be reading this as we type our analysis. This is the level of the intrusion in our lives and privacy in violation of 4th amendment rights to privacy to be secure in our persons, houses, papers, and effects without due process.
We also discussed that this is likely a straw man or false flag operation which Obama has made legendary as he strikes these down on a moments notice and is a ploy he continuously uses. So why not for a supposed phony war against his own creation ISIS and now maybe against this Khorasan group as well. This has some support by the Senior government official as well:
The official also wondered if there was a political element to Khorasan-
He is making the same argument and does not know whether this is a true organization or contrived entity by our own government.
The other possibility is that this is simply a counter intelligence operation to ferret other elements within our Islamofascist enemies to let them think they have been successful into deceiving us into the capabilities of this new group. The reason we discuss this is that a smart bomb in the Islamic world is a jihadist who straps on a suicide vest. To put such extraordinary efforts into running a security system designed to catch them has diminishing returns and seems marginal at best. When other methods could be employed with higher probabilities of success with lower operational risk.
Either way we are still faced with the fundamental question why is our government revealing such detailed information about this group and possibly sabotaging their efforts to destroy them. If they do not exist then it makes no difference, though, if they do then it is tantamount to operational suicide to reveal such details.
We do not trust this regime they have proven themselves to be a fascist regime that has and is destroying the law and the rule of law as they transition this nation to tyranny and fascism. They have proven themselves capable of acting in the most egregious and illegal manner that has caused hundreds of Mexican citizens to lose their lives with Fast & Furious and the illegal alien for hegemony gambit. So making a straw man Islamic organization to expend ordnance on is not a stretch of the imagination.
To wrap up this operation may be used to justify and continue the repression that is being waged against the nations citizens by an intrusive government. It is also a propaganda weapon that is putting the NSA in a favorable light, after all this is the same regime where our feckless tyrant heralded such an outrageous lie, as to equate the NSA as equivalent to the Sons of Liberty. It is not hard to imagine that this is just one more initiative to fundamentally transform this nation, we suspect that, all this is being used to show that we are actively engaged to destroy the capabilities of ISIS and these Islamic brigands in the Mideast that Obama created. It may also be a stepping stone to even more repression that is coming and a way to condition us to an even harsher security state and a coming purge of dissenters. Anything is possible with this government, in our wildest imaginations we would have never thought that a chief executive would ever act as a dictator, despot and tyrant by fiat and destroy our rights, birthright and heritage by balkanizing the nation with illegal aliens.
Which incidentally is costing the lives of countless citizens and illegal alien alike, which our feckless tyrant and his National Socialist Party hacks, minions, sycophants and supporters could care less about, you need to break a few eggs to make an omelet, or balkanize a nation. The count in Brooks County, Texas, just one county is forty five illegals so far this year. With these facts being actively suppressed by the MSM.
