Hagel says US won't let Iran build nuclear weapon

May 17, 2014

U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel pledged to Israeli leaders Friday that the U.S. "will do what we must" to prevent the Jewish state's greatest fear of a nuclear-armed Iran.

Well that’s a load off my mind, we have Chuck Hagel’s assurance that Iran will never get nuclear weapons with his unequivocal statement:

"I want to assure you of the United States' commitment to ensuring Iran does not get a nuclear weapon — and that America will do what we must to live up to that commitment,"

Sorry, Chuck but now I am really confused because we have this admission by Admiral Fadavi of the Iranian Navy from our Trawler III story:

Additionally, Fadavi revealed that on “at least” three occasions senior U.S. officials have contacted Iran to establish a telephone hot line like the one used between the Soviet Union and the United States during the Cold War era.

This suggests otherwise, and we can be absolutely sure that at least one of these tyrants is not telling the truth. Obama has done everything possible to help Iran in the acquisition of nuclear weapons by continually weakening sanctions even before any interim agreement was discussed in Geneva. What we can be sure of is that this is just a Dog and Pony show as Kerry and Obama had both been caught interfering in Israeli politics and trying to get Netanyahu replaced as their Prime Minister.

So Hagel’s word and the United States assurances don’t carry the weight they use to when we had leaders that were honorable men. Our nation is at a crossroads and we will either move forward in freedom and liberty or we will succumb to tyranny and the tyrants lash, the choice is ours the people running this government are less than honorable and must be turned out of office if we are to save the nation. We must with all due haste impeach Obama and prosecute him for his many crimes if we are to remain a free and able people. From Townhall.

Both men spoke of the disputed Iranian nuclear program, which is the topic of negotiations this week in Vienna between Western powers and Iran.

"We've been saying all along that Iran is trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the international community," Netanyahu said in a statement while standing beside Hagel.

He cited a United Nations report on what he called "Iran's ongoing effort to deceive the international community to continue to develop ICBMs and to continue to violate its commitments of security council stipulations on forbidding it to develop certain parts of its nuclear program."

"They continue to do that and I think that requires a very clear and firm policy on the part of world powers," Netanyahu said.

The Israeli leader said, "we must not let the ayatollahs win, we mustn't let the foremost terrorist state of our time, Iran, develop the capability to produce nuclear weapons." Hagel was wrapping up a four-day Middle East visit that began Tuesday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he met with defense leaders from Persian Gulf nations with longstanding security ties to the Unites States.

Hagel's trip coincided with international talks in Vienna with Iran aimed at drafting a deal to limit Iran's nuclear program, which is a top-priority issue for the Gulf Arab states as well as for Israel.
