‘Election Eve Dump:’ Eric Holder Releases Fast and Furious Documents That Got Him Cited for Contempt

November 6, 2014

Justice Department officials provided House investigators with thousands of documents related to Operation Fast and Furious that President Obama had previously claimed were exempt from congressional review.

In keeping with our other article on Mitch McConnell, here he is in his own words already capitulating on many issues and letting Obama know what is and what is not on the table before any fights even begin. One of the issues most citizens have with the GOP is that they tell Obama their strategy ahead of any showdown, it becomes game instead of service to the nation. Since Obama knows that they will not impeach him, defund the government or default on the debt leaving him free to act as he pleases as they have already acquiesced to him. This then becomes a pro forma exercise in futility for the American people that watch this Kabuki Theater dance to nowhere play out in real time:

“Let me make it clear, there will be no government shutdowns and no default on the National debt,” McConnell said during a press conference on Wednesday.

McConnell, the presumed Senate Majority Leader for the GOP, also warned that President Obama’s choice to take executive action on issues like immigration would be “a big mistake.”

“I think the president choosing to do a lot of things unilaterally on immigration would be a big mistake,” McConnell said. “It’s an issue that most of our members want to address legislatively. And it’s like waving a red flag in front of a bull to say, ‘if you guys don’t do what I want, I’m doing to do it on my own.’”

Obama has made it clear that he is not backing down from using executive privilege on passing an immigration bill that he wants, regardless of whether or not it is approved by both chambers of congress.

“I hope he won’t do that, because I do think it poisons the well for the opportunity to address a very important domestic issue,”

The one bright spot in the election was that most State Legislatures are now in conservatives hands as well as the Governors and opens the possibility to amend the Constitution. We can bypass Washington and go directly to our state house and demand that they convene a Convention of States to amend the Constitution and rein in the federal government.

We could defund Washington by repealing the 16th amendment and abolish the income tax, which is what theses parties fight over on how they will divide the nations treasure every year and why we have the cyclical nature in politics as they swing between pleasing electorates. The most important amendment to repeal is the 17th amendment and replace the lost check on federal powers by abolishing the popular election of Senators and allow the States to be represented once again in the Senate.

This would place this body back into being a deliberative legislative body once again instead of a Uber House of Representative with six year terms. Our federal government is broken and has been by these two pernicious amendments and, until we repeal them we will continue to see dysfunctional government from both parties. We have a historic chance to bring about real change, by a grass roots effort to bring the intent of the Constitution back to life, instead of the constant bickering on how to carve up the federal pie.

On the one hand we have the National Socialists (Democrats) that want to use these funds to buy votes through entitlement governance. The GOP uses our taxes to build a strong nation and economy by spending it on the military and other projects. Though it is still an, either, or proposition with the people paying for it all and not being the beneficiary in increased freedom and liberty which is what they are supposed to provide versus all the hyperbole, waste and rhetoric.
