Wave, Continued: GOP Will Control 70 Percent of All State Legislative Chambers

November 8, 2014

Everyone is (rightfully) buzzing about Republicans' dominant victories in contested Senate, House and gubernatorial races on Tuesday, but another historic GOP accomplishment shouldn't be overlooked.

Is anyone surprised that Obama has been clearing out Gitmo and releasing prisoners back into the fight. We are always suspicious of the motivations of Obama since he appears to act at odds with our interests domestically and in foreign affairs. We are now getting a report from Townhall of the release of another Islamic brigand that was on the never to be released list. We have to question this release as many Islamofascists are flocking to ISIS and joining the fight to establish their Caliphate, and are being aided in this effort by Obama:

The Obama administration released one of Guantanamo Bay’s longest-serving prisoners on Wednesday. Fawzi al-Odah, who had previously been classified as too dangerous to release, was sent back to Kuwait on the condition that he would serve one year in a militant-rehabilitation center.

In July, the board determined that al-Odah had most likely undergone terrorist training in Afghanistan and may have fought alongside the al-Qaida or the Taliban. The board, however, decided he had only a low level of training, did not have a leadership position in either group and could be released under certain conditions. The board has cleared a handful other detainees but they have not yet been released.

His father, Khalid al-Odah, said in several interviews with The Associated Press over the years that his son was only a teacher in Afghanistan who had been wrongly turned over to the U.S. authorities in exchange for a bounty.

The Kuwaiti government hired high-profile lawyers and lobbyists to push for the release of a dozen of its citizens at Guantanamo, an effort set back when one carried out a suicide bomb attack in Iraq in April 2008.

Al-Odah’s release is “yet another dangerous example of the Obama administration's misguided motivation to empty and then close Guantanamo rather than protect the national security interests of the United States," Sen. Kelley Ayotte said.

The 37-year-old’s release brings the number of detainees at Guantanamo Bay down to 148.

We questioned these releases back in June with our Obama Closing GITMO by Releasing Prisoners article:

Secretary Hagel is being pressured by Susan Rice and White House staff to sign off on the release of what Obama is calling low level detainees from Gitmo, what is it about Obama that he wants to empty the jails and prisons at home and abroad?

An act of Congress stripped the power from the office of president to release prisoners from Gitmo, it must be approved by the Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel after giving Congress 30 days notice.

We have been subjected to his illegal alien invasion by allowing the borders to be left wide open allowing one and all to invade our nation. This story in today's Web Trawler Lead plumbs the depth of this problem and is found here. When they are caught and released under Obama’s trademarked Catch and Release program, usually in another city, many have criminal records. Then Eric Holder jumps the gun on recommendations on new sentencing guidelines for drug crimes and Obama is pardoning prisoners under this new paradigm, even before a commission of federal judges has made their recommendations, drawing the ire of the federal judiciary.

Now we have this imperative from Obama to empty Gitmo of as many prisoners as possible. Why, now and what is the urgency? If it is too close Gitmo he is almost five year to late for that promise.

Congress had the wisdom to take the release of prisoners away from our feckless tyrant Obama and place it into the hands of the Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel.

Now that hostilities have broken out in Iraq and Syria and the Mideast in general these releases make no sense at all, its as if we are supplying seasoned commanders to ISIS for use against the governments in the region to bring to fruition the Islamic dream of a Caliphate united under one banner.

Such is the world under Obama’s foreign policy where left is right, up is down and the rational has been supplanted with the irrational and our enemies are treated as friends and our allies enemies. From Townhall.
